Timor Coucal Timor Leste's only true endemic, and only described in 1984. This wonderfully distinctive coucal is only found on the Los Palos peninsula, favouring the extensive tropical dry forest.
Timor Green Pigeon Timor-Leste is perhaps the only area this endangered bird is now found, hunting having decimated its population elsewhere and is no longer found in Indonesian Timor.
Yellow-crested Cockatoo Critically endangered with an increasingly bleak future for this Indonesian archipelago endemic, but can still be found in the reasonable numbers at its stronghold in Timor-Leste.
Timor Oriole A classic Timor endemic, also found on Roti. Found in most wooded habitats, and can be very common and vocal though not the brightest of its genus!
Black-banded Flycatcher This tiny Timor endemic is one of the most sort-after species in the region.
Timor Boobook Once considered part of the 'Southern' Boobook complex, this species is endemic to only Timor.
